Life Story Celebrant

Unique, spoken word funerals, memorials & end of life ceremonies

Home: Testimonial

I'm a Sussex-based celebrant who brings a unique touch to funerals, memorials and end of life ceremonies.

I work closely with you, family and friends to create a truly personal ceremony. With care and sensitivity, I listen to your stories and then transform your memories into a beautiful reflection, eulogy or specially created poem to honour your loved one.

My experience of spoken word performance spans over twenty years. I've worked with a wide range of community groups and performed poetry in a variety of settings from the Tate Modern to Charing Cross Hospital and Martlets Hospice.

Through my work as an English lecturer, I have a broad knowledge of literature which means I can advise on poetry, prose or spiritual writings most suitable for your ceremony. I can give the readings or offer advice and support if you'd prefer to read yourself.

In accordance with your hopes, wishes, spirituality or religion, I'm trained to provide multi-faith or non-faith services as a source of comfort to you and a meaningful tribute to your loved one.

REMEMBRANCE DURING THE PANDEMIC

Bereavement is even harder during the current uncertainty. If your ideal ceremony isn't possible, you can still create a unique and special tribute. I can help prepare a meaningful eulogy, obituary, testimonial or poem that celebrates the life of your loved one.

Via phone, email, FaceTime or Zoom we can discuss your ideas which I will then write up. You can then share the written words at the funeral or online memorial yourself or I can record them for you to play. We could also explore your hopes for the future such as planning a memorial ceremony in safer times.
